The Rules of the DBML3
- Remember your Netiquette.
- Netiquette is a cutesy little word used to describe courteous behavior online. For a
detailed guide to netiquette, check out this site.
Basically, though, it means---be considerate.
- No spamming.
- No advertisements, multiple duplicate messages, pyramid schemes, chain letters, virus warnings, etc.
That crap's annoying.
- No binaries, attachments, etc.
- Not everyone's email reader can handle things like that, and large files can crash
inboxes.
Refer back to the first rule---be considerate of your fellow ML members.
- No crossposting.
- That means no posting something to the DBML3 and cc'ing it to other MLs or other e-addresses.
This can often result in people simply using 'reply to all' and if they're not DBML3 members, their
posts bounce into my mailbox. It's also annoying to members of other MLs, to get DBML3 discussion in
their inboxes, when they're not interested.
- If you're going to say something, say something.
- Please don't quote a twenty-line message and add "me, too." One-line messages just eat
up bandwidth. If you don't have anything significant to say, wait until you do, to post.
- Fanfiction is okay, provided it's small. For large stories or stories with multiple parts,
a URL is preferred.
- Heated discussions are okay. Just keep it clean.
- I love a good argument. But once you start hurling dirty names and childish
insults, it's no longer pleasant for the rest of us on the list. Kindly take your flamewars to
private email.
- Any topic related to Dragonball is okay.
- Except if it's about Gokuu versus Superman, or any Dragon Ball character versus any
American superhero. The DBML3 has had more than enough discussion on that particular topic.
I have little tolerance for this nonsense, and it always ends up in flames, regardless of the
original intent.
- Even if it's about the characters and their sexual activities. See the next rule.
- 'Nuff Said.
- No kids.
- Or at least, if kids get on the list, they'd better be prepared to hear the occasional
curse or bit of adult subject matter. It's the parents' job to monitor their kids' internet
activity, not mine.
- Keep it on-topic!
This mailing list is for the discussion of Dragon Ball and related topics. Please keep messages on-topic. This is NOT the place to ask about
other anime series or video games. HOWEVER, I will have the final say on what is and is not considered on-topic.
- DO NOT BE A MAILING LIST VIGILANTE!
If someone breaks the rules, do NOT send a message to them through the mailing list telling them off!
I'm the only law on this here mailing list. If I do decide to appoint a deputy, I'll let everyone know!
To find out who the current moderators are, look at the list of Members on the Yahoogroups homepage
- I'm a little more tolerant than Katchan. I don't have to be worshipped, although I certainly
won't discourage you if you're so inclined. Just to let you know, my personal pet peeves are:
- Flames
- Spam
- and Binary files
- Just remember, as long as everyone plays nicely together I won't have to get nasty. ^_^
